Pain in the neck
can be more than just irritating. Neck pain can come from disorders and diseases of any structure in the neck.
A Therapeutic Approach to Treating Neck Pain
Neck pain is the most common complaint within the patient population here at Tustin Family Chiropractic. The origin of neck pain can be diverse and is more often a result of daily microtraumas, such as a workstation that is not ergonomically correct, than the result of an acute trauma, such as a whiplash due to a vehicle accident. Stress, and the resulting tension, can play a major role in the development and persistence of neck pain.
Like the lower back, most neck problems are actually mechanical in nature, rather than diseases oriented, and, require a mechanical solution. Dr. Stark examines ranges of motion, muscle tightness and balance, testing the nerves that flow from the neck, and performing special tests to evaluate joint function and stability.
Dr. Stark then prescribes a program of gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments with adjunct therapeutic modalities, massage therapy, exercises, and lifestyle management to correct and manage dysfunction of muscles and spinal joints. The benefits are usually immediate and lasting. Most patients with chronic neck pain benefit by our multi-faceted approach.
